History of JIAIO

The Japan Society of Immunology, Allergology and Infection in Otorhinolaryngology (JIAIO) is an academic society established in 2020 by merging, in a constructive way, the Japan Society of Immunology and Allergology in Otolaryngology (JIAO), having a history of about 40 years, and the Japan Society for Infection and Aerosol in Otolaryngology (JSIAO), having a history of about 50 years. Different from other otorhinolaryngology-related academies in Japan that focus on specific organs, JIAIO exhaustively and transversely covers the basic science and clinical medicine of immunology, allergology, infectious diseases, and aerosol therapy in the areas of otorhinolaryngology, head and neck surgery, and related areas. JIAIO aims to further the progress and development in these areas as well to promote interchange and friendship among its members.
